Minority Report: Episodes Cut by FOX

Minority Report TV show on FOX (cancel or renew?)It looks like Minority Report, the new FOX TV show, has moved a bit closer to being cancelled. It’s been reported that the series’ episode order has been cut, from 13 to 10 episodes. The show had a poor debut in the ratings last month and the numbers have been getting worse each week.

Set in Washington D.C. 2065, Minority Report follows Lara Vega (Meagan Good), a homicide detective who becomes connected with Dash (Stark Sands). He’s a psychic “precog” who’s haunted by images of future crimes and is on a mission to stop them from happening. The rest of the cast includes Nick Zano, Laura Regan, Wilmer Valderrama, Daniel London, Li Jun Li, Zhane Hall, and Tina Lifford.

The series debuted to a disappointing 1.11 rating in the 18-49 demographic with just 3.097 million viewers. The ratings dropped nearly 20% in week two and then fell about the same amount again last Monday, hitting a 0.70 rating with 2.075 million.

While the ratings and FOX’s decision to cut Minority Report’s episode order certainly aren’t good news for fans, it seems likely that the network will air (or release) all 10 installments. A second season renewal seems out of the question.

What do you think? Do you like the Minority Report TV show? Do you think it will be cancelled? Will you keep watching?
