How many more seasons will Modern Family get? According to The Hollywood Reporter, the new Disney-Fox deal could lead to a season 11 renewal for the ABC TV show.
The long-running comedy is currently in its ninth season and has already been renewed for season 10. The cast includes Ed O’Neill, Sofía Vergara, Julie Bowen, Ty Burrell, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Eric Stonestreet, Sarah Hyland, Ariel Winter, Nolan Gould, and Rico Rodriguez.
While ABC has not yet announced a season 11 renewal for Modern Family, it seems likely given Disney’s merger with Fox. The sitcom is produced by 20th Century Fox Television, which is now owned by ABC’s parent company, Disney, so a renewal would make sense for both parties.
Co-showrunner Steve Levitan told THR that a deal will be worked out soon:
The answer is, I don’t know. I thought it made sense to do that, but there has been some whispers and some wondering, and so it was never definitive. But we’re going to get into it, I expect, relatively soon.”
