Modern Family only has a couple weeks left before its season eight finale, but will it also be a series finale? Recently, executive producer Steve Levitan discussed the future of the ABC TV show, Deadline reports.
The long-running sitcom revolves around three Los Angeles families who are interrelated through Jay Pritchett (Ed O’Neill) and his two adult children (Julie Bowen and Jesse Tyler Ferguson). The cast also includes Sofía Vergara, Ty Burrell, Eric Stonestreet, Sarah Hyland, Ariel Winter, Nolan Gould, Rico Rodriguez, Aubrey Anderson-Emmons, and Jeremy Maguire.
The odds are high that Modern Family will be renewed for a ninth season. For many years now, the show has been ABC‘s most-watched and highest-rated comedy and season eight has been no different. Currently, the series is averaging a 2.14 rating in the 18-49 demo and 6.967 million viewers.
EP Steve Levitan echoed these statements at a recent panel discussion, saying season nine will happen:
In about a month or so, the writers will re-gather and we will sit down and we will start the season with a big, ‘What now?’”
What do you think? Do you watch Modern Family? Do you think it should be renewed for another season?
