It’s time to dig out your eating pants — and not just for Thanksgiving. Food Network is reviving Mario Batali’s Molto Mario TV show. The Chew co-host’s cooking series originally ran on Food Network from the mid-1990s to 2000s.
Reportedly, Food Network has already wrapped production on the six episodes of the Molto Mario TV series revival. Expect it to premiere in 2018.
Here’s more from Variety:
More than a decade after his last original episode, Mario Batali has stepped back into the Food Network kitchen for fresh installments of “Molto Mario,” the show that helped make him a culinary star.
“Molto Mario,” the cooking program that first aired in 1997, will premiere six new episodes that will feature the chef preparing meals with friends and celebrity guests. The show has not produced new episodes since 2005, although Batali continued to appear on the network’s “Iron Chef” programs until 2010. He also made a visit to Michael Symon’s “Burgers, Brews, and ‘Que” in 2015.
“Mario Batali has long been one of the most approachable and engaging chefs for audiences to enjoy and learn from, masterfully sharing his delicious recipes and stories,” said Allison Page, general manager of U.S. programming and development for Scripps Networks Interactive. “What could be better than starting a new year with new episodes of an all-time classic like ‘Molto Mario.’ We are excited to have Mario back home at Food Network.”
Production has wrapped on the new episodes which will premiere early next year. “Molto Mario” hails from the production banner Frank, with Batali also serving as an executive producer.
