Mr. Selfridge is getting ready to release its final season to ITV on January 8. TV Series Finale shared a sneak peek for the premiere of the final season yesterday, and now there are new comments from Jeremy Piven about the end of the series.

He spoke about the final season of Mr. Selfridge with What’s On TV, and he gave some insight into the final season and where the action picks up.

He revealed that season four will begin 10 years after season three, and Mr. Selfridge is a bit of a broken man. During the season three finale, he learned that the woman he loved was trying to con him out of his money.

During the season four premiere, he will meet the Dolly sisters, and he spoke about his relationship with the two women during the interview. He said:

“After Nancy, you’d think Harry would be more savvy about relationships but he always seems to pick the bad ones. The Dolly Sisters are just what Harry needs in that moment, so he throws caution to the wind. But, as many will know, things are not going to end well…”

Piven also spoke about the end of the series. He knew it would only be a four season series when he began Mr. Selfridge, but he knew there was a challenge to the series as well. He said:

“What initially drew me to this project was how incredibly challenging it would be – how we could navigate Harry’s fall without embracing the darkness while not alienating people along the way. I think we have a real opportunity to end on a high note while depicting his fall.”
