The Muppets take…unemployment. The Muppets TV show was cancelled by ABC after one season. Kind-hearted Comedy Central is so concerned for their plight that @Midnight with Chris Hardwick gathered Kristen Schaal, Fozzie Bear, and John Hodgman together, to brainstorm new ideas for the out-of-work Muppets. The brainstorming comes about as part of a game show format segment. Watch it, below.
In the segment, Schaal suggests: “Dr. Bunsen Honeydew in The John Hodgman Story.”
Even though Fozzie Bear can “see it,” Hodgman resists taking the bait and rings in with, “Pigs In Space: The Pork Awakens.”
Fozzie suggests, “Um, an Animal House remake — with animals!”
Kristen comes back with “Gonzo Girl.”
Fozzie’s next suggestion is, “Miss Piggy in Silence of the Hams.”
Hodgman suggests: “A new HBO political comedy called Meep.”
Fozzie then says, “Anything as long as I have a job.” Aww.
What do you think? Are you disappointed that ABC cancelled The Muppets TV series? Do you think The Muppets should have been renewed for a second season? What would you like to see next, from The Muppets?
