What can you do? Remember, the ideal scenario for ABC is for many millions of people to watch the show on their television sets, while it’s being broadcast. Unfortunately, ratings are put together based on a sampling of viewers. If you’re a “Nielsen household,” your viewing is being counted. If not, it’s not.
However, if you like My Generation and want to see it continue, there are a few things you can do to help.
- If you’re a Nielsen family, watch the show whenever it’s on. If not, watch it on ABC.com or purchase episodes online so your viewing will be directly counted. Encourage others to watch the show. You might know a Nielsen family and not be aware of it.
- Talk about the show with others; at school, at work, online, or wherever. Creating a buzz about a show that you’re invested in gets other people interested and might help bring former viewers back.
- Sign the petition below and encourage others to do the same.
- Write to the network. Be respectful. Everyone responds better to courtesy. Tell them how much you enjoy the show, that you’ve signed the petition, and that you want to see it continue. You can use this form or, even better, write via “snail-mail” to: Mr. Paul Lee, President, ABC, 500 S. Buena Vista Street, Burbank, CA 91521, RE: My Generation
- Call the network at (818) 460-7477 and leave a comment. Be polite and tell them how much you like the show.
- Take note of the products that are advertised during the show. Write the advertisers and tell them that you appreciate their sponsoring the show and that you buy their products (if you do).

I just stumbled on this show on the internet and now I am hooked. It sucks to be cancelled it reminded me of good tv like it could get a good cult following. The acting was excellent and very true to life, the characters were developed, the premise is so interesting it can go in a million directions and not get old, and over all the show was quality. Once you sit in on it and catch the point your hooked. Give people a chance to watch good programming. This show was different. I hope it comes back

i miss this show, my boyfriend is serving in the army too, and this show made me have something to watch, to take my mind off my boyfriend leaving. Stop canceling shows just because the ABC people don't like it, the people love this show i know i do.

I had high hopes for this show and world love to see how things played out! Renewing the show would be great, but at least please finish airing the episodes that have already finished shooting. ABC has many affiliates...how about airing the show on one of them. People of my age group need a voice and show that doesn't fall into one of two overused boxes: the medical romance/drama and the quirky courtroom dramedy. Please give this show a longer chance with viewers. You may be pleasantly surprised!

I absolutely love this show. Of all the crap that is on TV these days and they go and cancel this!!! I had an alarm set on my phone to tell me when this came on and then it just stopped. I have loved all the episodes that are available online and need MORE!! I don't understand why you stopped it!

My husband and I absolutely LOVED My Generation. I can't believe some of the stupid shows out their (including the so-called reality TV shows) that are still on TV but not this show. And we were teased with commercials for the next weeks episode which never came. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE bring this show back. It is a breath of fresh air. I haven't seen a show like it at all and it really makes you laugh and has some poignant moments, too. It is a real shame that whatever corporate, money reasons are the driving force behind taking this quality show off the air. Believe me, other networks are going to gobble up your actors for being so stupid. PLEASE bring the show back.

I was following My Generation online since I'm a college student and could not watch when it aired. But for a girl who doesn't follow a single series right now, I was hooked on My Generation. I wanted to know what happened next, what happened in the past, why relationships had become what they had become. It was real life problems affecting real people. I attend The University of Texas at Austin and seeing clips of where I live was an extra little reason to watch the show. Episode 8 also didn't provide any closure--do Anders and Brenda finally end up together? How will Rolly adjust to fatherhood? How will Kenneth deal with Dawn moving out?, etc. There are too many unanswered questions left, that need to be answered. Please bring this show back. It's more real than a lot of other over-dramatized crap that is on TV these days. It's even more real than "reality" TV.
