My So-Called Life: Danes Says ”No” to Reunion

On just about every “great series that were cancelled too soon” list, you’ll find the ABC’s My So-Called Life. Despite that fact that the teen-angst drama ran for only 19 episodes on ABC during the 1994-95 season, it continues to have a cult following. I’m sure it doesn’t hurt that Life features performances by very young and attractive Claire Danes and Jared Leto. The series ended on a cliffhanger because the producers expected the series to return for a second season.

Now, over 10 years later, is there a possibility of a reunion project of some kind? Not likely. Danes recently told MTV, “I think it would be a bad idea. I think we just, you know, the stars were aligned in such a way that we were able to produce this wonderful, special work. And I don’t know if we could imitate that or even approximate it later on.” Stay tuned!
