TV show description:
Angela Chase (Claire Danes) has always been on the safe and ordinary side. She gets straight A’s, is well-behaved, and hangs out with best friend Sharon (Devon Odessa) and geeky Brian Krakow (Devon Gummersall).
But, as Angela enters high school, she decides to assert her independence and make a break from the person others want her to be. She dyes her hair crimson and begins hanging out with rebellious Rayanne (A.J. Langer) and gay Enrique “Rickie” Vasquez (Wilson Cruz). Angela also falls for brooding and handsome slacker Jordan Catalano (Jared Leto).
Angela’s longtime friends, suburban parents Patty and Graham (Bess Armstrong and Tom Irwin), and often-ignored, younger sister Danielle (Lisa Wilhoit) are understandably alarmed.
