The project comes from director Jose Padilha and Gaumont International Television. Wagner Moura will star as Escobar.

In addition to Narcos, Netflix has the third season of House of Cards coming as well as Grace and Frankie, the recently ordered Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda series.
