Is Rayna James bowing out? TVLine reports Connie Britton will be leaving Nashville during the upcoming fifth season on CMT.
Britton isn’t the first castmember to leave the series after ABC cancelled it earlier this year. Will Chase has moved on to ABC’s upcoming drama Time After Time. Regular stars Charles Esten, Sam Palladio, Jonathan Jackson, Clare Bowen, Lennon Stella, Maisy Stella, and Chris Carmack are all returning for the new season.
Apparently, Britton will appear in at least 10 of the 22 episodes slated for season five. However, the exact number of episodes is still up in the air as negotiations are said to be ongoing. And while Britton’s exit is sad news, co-star Hayden Panettiere will appear in all 22 episodes.
Season five of Nashville debuts on January 5th.
