Is Connie Britton leaving Nashville? According to Deadline, the lead actress could be exiting the CMT TV series after season five.
Britton plays Rayna James on the country music drama, which moved to CMT this season after ABC cancelled the show last spring. The cast also includes Hayden Panettiere, Charles Esten, Clare Bowen, Sam Palladio, Chris Carmack, Jonathan Jackson, Lennon Stella, and Maisy Stella.
Rumors that Britton is leaving the show have circulated since before season five began last December. Now, Deadline says the actress is being sought out by networks for pilot season, meaning she could very well be moving on from Nashville. Neither CMT nor Britton have confirmed the rumors.
The midseason finale of Nashville airs on March 9th.
