Nashville: Season Five Writers Room Set Up by New Showrunners

Nashville TV show on ABC: canceled or renewed for season 5

What’s next for Nashville? Deadline reports the ABC series’ new showrunners have set up a writers room for season five.

Currently in the middle of its fourth season, the country music drama has not officially been renewed for a fifth season yet. Though, the hiring of new showrunners, Ed Zwick and Marshall Herskovitz, suggests ABC will order another season.

According to Deadline, both Zwick and Herskovitz have set up a writers room to get a headstart on season five in case the series is renewed. The drama’s current showrunner, Dee Johnson, is leaving after season four.

While Nashville‘s ratings aren’t as high as they used to be—season four is averaging a 1.00 in the 18-49 demo and 4.281 million viewers—it is still likely the show will return.

What do you think? Do you watch Nashville? Do you want a fifth season?
