The Night Manager: Producer Would Love to Make Season Two

The Night Manager TV show on AMC (canceled or renewed?)

Could The Night Manager return? Recently, producer Simon Cornwell said he’s interested in making a second season of the AMC series, Digital Spy reports.

Based on the novel by John le Carré, the spy thriller centers on former British soldier Jonathan Pine (Tom Hiddleston), who is recruited as an intelligence operative to investigate arms dealer Richard Roper (Hugh Laurie). The cast also includes Olivia Colman, Tom Hollander, Elizabeth Debicki, Douglas Hodge, and Antonio de la Torre.

Recently, Cornwell said a second season would be “very exciting”:

Of course, the broadcasters would love to have another series. I think in a lot of ways we would love to do another series, it would be very exciting.”

But what would season two look like, given there is no sequel to the source material:

There is no book and there’s never been a Le Carré story which has been extended beyond the confines of the novel. It would be interesting and exciting to try that.
Truthfully, I think it is still in the lap of Le Carré himself… and if he can see a way for them to continue in a framework that fits his original conception.”

What do you think? Have you seen The Night Manger? Do you want a second season?
