Notorious: What You Didn’t See; Season Two Plans Revealed

Notorious isn’t over quite yet. Recently, showrunner Josh Berman spoke with TVLine about what you didn’t see in season one of the ABC TV series and his plans for a possible second season.

The drama revolves around the symbiotic relationship between a charismatic defense attorney (Daniel Sunjata) and a powerhouse TV producer (Piper Perabo) as they attempt to control the media, the justice system, and each other. The cast also includes Kate Jennings Grant, Aimee Teegarden, J. August Richards, Sepideh Moafi, Ryan Guzman, and Kevin Zegers.

In the interview, Berman revealed there were plans to delve more into Jake’s (Sunjata) past in season one, but ABC cut the episode order down from 13 to 10 episodes:

The last few episodes were really going to dig into Jake’s past; we were going to meet both his adoptive parents and his biological parents. We had people in mind, and Daniel [Sunjata] was really excited about doing it.”

The showrunner later added that there are several storylines planned for a possible second season, including a potential romance between Avery (Rebecca Breeds) and Megan (Moafi):

There was actually a scene cut from the finale that showed some sparks between Avery and Megan. It’s a storyline we’ll save for the future, fingers crossed. … We’ve never delved into Megan’s backstory, so we don’t know what her sexuality is. There was great chemistry between those two ladies on the set, so we were going to use Avery as a way of going into Megan’s past.”

And what are the chances of a season two? So far, ABC has not announced whether the show’s renewed or not. However, earlier we reported the network is paying to keep the show’s sets up for now.

What do you think? Are you a fan of Notorious? Do you want a second season?
