Santa Monica, Calif. – June 7, 2018 – Starz, a Lionsgate company (NYSE: LGF.A, LGF.B), announced today that Kelli Berglund (“Lab Rats,” “Raising the Bar”), Beau Mirchoff (“Awkward,” “The Fosters”) and Roxane Mesquida (Kaboom, The Last Mistress) have been cast as series regulars in the STARZ Original series “Now Apocalypse” from creator and executive producer Gregg Araki (Kaboom, Mysterious Skin).

“Now Apocalypse” follows Ulysses, played by Avan Jogia (Shaft, “Tut,” “Ghost Wars”), and his friends Carly, Ford and Severine, who are on various quests pursing love, sex and fame. This surreal coming-of-age comedy series explores identity, sexuality and artistry, while navigating the strange and oftentimes bewildering city of Los Angeles. Between sexual and romantic dating app adventures, Ulysses grows increasingly troubled as foreboding premonitory dreams make him wonder – is some kind of dark and monstrous conspiracy going on, or is he just smoking too much weed?

Kelli Berglund has been cast as ‘Carly,’ a wannabe actress and Ulysses’ best friend. California-native Berglund is best known for her lead role as Bree Davenport on “Lab Rats” and “Lab Rats: Elite Force.” She recently starred in the indie horror feature Ghost in the Graveyard and can be seen in “Going for Gold.” Additional recent television and film credits include Emmy(R)-nominated “Dolly Parton’s Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love” and a supporting role in the indie flick 1 Night. Berglund is repped by UTA, Industry Entertainment and Bloom Gergott Diemer Rosenthal Laviolette Feldman Schenkman & Goodman.

Beau Mirchoff will play ‘Ford,’ an aspiring screenwriter and Ulysses’ roommate. Mirchoff was a series regular on the critically-acclaimed scripted series “Awkward” for five seasons and also recently appeared in recurring roles on “I’m Dying Up Here,” “The Fosters” and “Aquarius.” His feature credits include the Flatliners remake, Scary Movie 4, Grudge 3, I Am Number 4 and gritty indie Poker Night. Mirchoff is repped by APA, Velocity Entertainment Partners and Ginsburg Daniels Kallis.

Roxane Mesquida plays ‘Severine,’ a French, confident and pragmatic astrobiological theorist. Mesquida, international model and the face of cosmetic brand Laura Mercier, played ‘Beatrice” in the fifth season of “Gossip Girl” and also starred in Kaboom, Rubber, Sheitan, The Last Mistress and “XIII Series.” Mesquida is repped by Elevate Artist Management and 3Arts Entertainment.

Executive producing with Araki are Steven Soderbergh (Logan Lucky, “The Knick”) and Gregory Jacobs (Magic Mike XXL, “Red Oaks”). All 10 half-hour episodes are co-written by author and Vogue.com sex columnist, Karley Sciortino, creator and host of “Slutever” on Viceland. Sciortino also serves as a consulting producer.

Senior Vice President of Original Programming Ken Segna and Manager of Original Programming Kathleen Clifford are the Starz executives in charge of “Now Apocalypse.”
