The Oath: Ryan Kwanten (True Blood) to Co-Star with Sean Bean in Crackle Drama

Ryan Kwanten is coming to Crackle. Recently, the streaming service announced the True Blood star has joined the upcoming TV show The Oath.

Executive produced by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, the drama “explores a world of gangs made up of those sworn to protect and defend and sheds light on corrupt and secret societies that are nearly impossible to join – only a select few make the cut-but once inside, members will do what they must to protect each other from enemies on the outside and from within their own ranks.”

On The Oath, Kwanten will be playing “Steve Hammond, son of Tom Hammond (portrayed by Sean Bean) and the leader of a cop gang, The Ravens.” He joins fellow cast member Arlen Escarpeta.

CULVER CITY, Calif. (June 27, 2017) – Crackle, Sony Pictures Television Networks’ free, ad supported streaming network, today announced that Ryan Kwanten (“True Blood”) has been cast in its upcoming 10-episode original drama, “The Oath,” set to debut in 2018. Kwanten will also serve as a producer on the series.

Kwanten will play Steve Hammond, son of Tom Hammond (portrayed by Sean Bean) and the leader of a cop gang, The Ravens. A cool, pragmatic, reluctant leader with the mind and instincts of a shrewd tactician, Hammond is a survivor–a natural protector who values taking care of those closest to him, his family, his team.

Created by Joe Halpin (“Hawaii Five-O,” “Secrets and Lies”), who worked as a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputy in South Central for 17 years, 12 of which as an undercover officer, the series takes ?an unforgiving look at the complicated dynamics in these organizations and documents the lives of those willing to risk it all, to have it all.
