One Day at a Time: Season Four; Cancelled Netflix Series Coming to Pop — Without the Theme Song

One Day at a Time has its premiere date set. The series will arrive on its new home in March, per TV Line. The series will air a 13 episode fourth season on Pop TV, but one thing will be missing when the show returns.

No, not a person on the cast, but the show’s theme song is being cut from before the series due to “time constaints.” Justina Machado, Isabella Gomez, Marcel Ruiz, Stephen Tobolowsky, and Todd Grinnell are all returning for the new season.

Pop revealed more about the return of One Day at a Time in a press release. Check that out below.

“After a celebrated new season pickup following a passionate fan campaign, Pop TV today announced that the acclaimed series ONE DAY AT A TIME, will return on Tuesday, March 24 at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT, following all new-episodes of the final season of SCHITT’S CREEK before moving to 9 p.m. ET/PT, starting on April 14.

Produced by Sony Pictures Television, the award-winning comedy inspired by Emmy(R) winner Norman Lear’s 1975 series of the same name will continue to tell the story of the Cuban American Alvarez family throughout 13 original episodes. This season will find Penelope (Screen Actors Guild Award(R) winner Justina Machado) exploring a surprising relationship, her mother Lydia (Emmy, Grammy(R), Oscar(R) and Tony(R) winner Rita Moreno) experiencing a religious crisis – as well as revealing the details of her surprise trip to Cuba with Dr. Berkowitz (Stephen Tobolowsky), and Schneider (Todd Grinnell) finding his relationship with Avery (India de Beaufort) growing deeper. Meanwhile, Elena (Isabella Gomez) begins to prepare for college and Alex (Marcel Ruiz) starts to date.

‘The enthusiastic response from fans since announcing our new season of ONE DAY AT A TIME has been thrilling,” said Brad Schwartz, President, Pop TV. “The series is more important than ever with its unmatched ability to tackle topical social issues through the lens of a relatable, loving family. The exceptionally talented team behind and in front of the camera make us proud to have ONE DAY AT A TIME at home at Pop TV.’”
