The Originals will return to the small screen in March with its fourth season. Is a fifth season possible? Or will this series end with season four?
Mark Pedowitz spoke about the future of the CW series at the TCA’s over the weekend, and a fifth season is possible. He said the following about The Originals, per Entertainment Weekly:
“Julie [Plec] and I spoke ahead of time about this. The Originals has not yet premiered for the season. It’ll probably be a discussion in May. I’m a big Julie Plec fan. I’m hoping The Originals will continue. A lot of it will depend on performance.”
When The Originals returns, the action will pick up five years after the end of season three, and the Mikaelsons will face a new foe.
