Orphan Black is gearing up for the premiere of its fifth and final season. Recently, the stars of the BBC America TV show spoke with The Wrap about ending the award-winning series.
The sci-fi drama centers on Sarah Manning (Tatiana Maslany), a con-woman who discovers she is one of many clones that have been created by a scientific movement — and are at the center of an assassination plot by a secret religious group. The cast also includes Jordan Gavaris, Maria Doyle Kennedy, Kristian Bruun, Kevin Hanchard, Skyler Wexler, Ari Millen, and Josh Vokey.
In the interview, star Kristian Bruun said the cast isn’t ready to say goodbye and they’re planning a vacation:
We’ve really become a family. I know it’s cheesy to say that but it’s absolutely true. [Maria Doyle Kennedy had] this idea that it’s really going to sink in this fall when we’re not actually going back to the show [so] her idea is to have us all go on vacation. I think it’s a wonderful idea.”
Castmate Jordan Gavaris echoed Bruun’s sentiment, saying the cast already misses Orphan Black:
I think we realized how important we all are to each other and saying goodbye after five years… it’s a lot. It’s heavy. We already miss the show.”
The final season of Orphan Black premieres on BBC America on June 10th at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
