Outlaw: Petition to Wrap Up the Cancelled NBC Series

Jimmy Smits has had some great successes in television but, unfortunately, Outlaw isn’t one of them. The show has been performing very poorly in the ratings and NBC has decided to cancel it. The final episodes are running on Saturday nights.

What can you do? Remember, the ideal scenario for NBC is for many millions of people to watch the show on their television sets, while it’s being broadcast. Unfortunately, ratings are put together based on a sampling of viewers. If you’re a “Nielsen household,” your viewing is being counted. If not, it’s not.

However, if you like Outlaw and want to see it continue, there are a few things you can do to help.

If you’re a Nielsen family, watch the show whenever it’s on. If not, watch it on NBC.com or purchase episodes online so your viewing will be directly counted. Encourage others to watch the show. You might know a Nielsen family and not be aware of it.

Talk about the show with others; at school, at work, online, or wherever. Creating a buzz about a show that you’re invested in gets other people interested and might help bring former viewers back.

Sign the petition below and encourage others to do the same.

Write to the network. Be respectful. Everyone responds better to courtesy. Tell them how much you enjoy the show, that you’ve signed the petition, and that you want to see it continue. You can use this form or, even better, write via snail-mail to: Mr. Jeff Gaspin, Chairman, NBC, 3000 W. Alameda, Burbank, CA 91523, RE: Outlaw

Take note of the products that are advertised during the show. Write the advertisers and tell them that you appreciate their sponsoring the show and that you buy their products (if you do).

Please find a way to keep Outlaw on the air. We are devoted viewers who will continue to watch the program, encourage others to do the same, and will support the series’ advertisers as well. Please keep it going, either on NBC or, if necessary, on another NBC-related channel. If that’s not possible, please find a way to wrap up the story.

I STILL miss this show. Wondering why Outlaw and other law-related shows (The Firm, Harry's Law) aren't allowed to even get near reaching their potential. Reality TV isn't ALL there is. Bring back Outlaw.

Dear NBC, or whomever this may concern, Please reconsider Outlaw. I thought it was great. I don't watch TV all that much. I only have a couple shows that I like to watch anymore. But Outlaw was wonderful. It was funny and I enjoyed the investigating that they did in the show. It was just down right fun. So, please reconsider bringing it back. I noticed that I was not the only one that loved the show. If you would take a moment and view the comments online regarding the show. There are several people that loved it too. Well, I know everything costs money, so do what you have to do. But I believe if you brought it back, you may have more people watching this time. Thanks so much, Sincerely, Angel Haber Houston, TX

I love Jimmy Smits & I enjoy a good show. This was a 'reality' show I watched, it was edgy and dealt with believable issues. I am very disappointed it has not continued to air. I have been looking for my shows to finish the season and I have been disappointed. I almost do not want to get interested in new series until they have made it to second season. Then I will buy the discs of season 1 to catch up. It seems the networks cancel the good shows for family's and replace with junk! Why is that? Cheaper production is just that - cheap non-entertaintment.

PLEASE BRING THIS SHOW BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT IS ONE OF THE FEW GOOD SHOWS ON. JUST AS WE GET INTO A SHOW YOU GO AND CANCEL IT. MOVE IT AROUND AND SEE IF SOME OTHER TIME SLOT WOULD WORK. PROMOTE IT MORE, TRY TO SAVE THE SCRIPTED SHOWS INSTEAD OF GIVING UP ON THEM SO EASILY. REALITY GETS PROMOTED MORE THAN THE SCRIPTED SHOWS. WE ARE TIRED OF THIS TREND.

Please consider bringing Outlaw back on a different night. It was a well written show, but it's down fall wa that it fell prey to the wrong night.
