TV show description:
This TV show revolves around a team of Los Angeles catering employees who are mostly a group of aspiring actors, writers, and musicians. They’re working for the Party Down service while waiting for their big breaks.
Henry Pollard (Adam Scott), is in his mid-thirties and, after some success, has given up his dream of being a professional actor. He reluctantly returns to work for Party Down under the supervision of his friend Ron. He eventually becomes the new team leader of Party Down. While he enjoys the increased paycheck, he’s not thrilled with the added responsibilities of leading the less-than-professional workers. He’s no longer dreaming of what could be and is trying to be more practical.
Ronald Wayne Donald (Ken Marino) loves being a caterer and is super chipper and controlling. He tries opening his own salad and soup franchise but eventually ends up coming back to Party Down, wanting Henry’s job.
Kyle Bradway (Ryan Hansen) is the front man of the indie-alternative band, Karma Rocket, as well as being an actor and model. He sees himself as having everything — looks, talent, and sensitivity. He also feels he has the combination of soulful artist and insightful intellectual. Everyone else thinks he’s self-obsessed.
Roman DeBeers (Martin Starr) is a Science Fiction visionary, intellectual and critic, or at least that’s how he sees himself. He sees it as his job to be judgmental of others, including his colleagues and the party guests. Casey is spared from his wrath, because he is secretly in love with her.
Casey Klein (Lizzy Caplan) is a struggling actress who does time as a comic on a cruise line. She decides to go back to being a land-based comedienne who pays the bills by being a cater-waiter.
Constance Carmell (Jane Lynch) is full of energy, one liners, and quite often, inappropriate behavior. A faded actress, she’s both starry-eyed and fiercely competitive. When she leaves, her roommate Bobbie St. Brown (Jennifer Coolidge) fills in.
Newly single, Lydia Dunfree (Megan Mullally) isn’t looking for her own fame, but that of her 13-year-old daughter, Escapade. She doesn’t know what she’s in for, and is extremely naive about the people she’s working with. She doesn’t get down though and stays chipper. She just tries even harder to get that big break for her daughter.
Episode 20 — Constance Carmell Wedding
The team caters the wedding of their crazy former co-worker, Constance. She’s marrying an older and somewhat-creepy film producer who has a heart condition and a habit of hitting on other women. After a two month relationship, her friends are worried she’ll get hurt while the prodcer’s daughter is worried she’s after his money. Things typically go terribly wrong.
Ron accidentally gets stoned on baked goods and reveals to his girlfriend that her parents are getting a divorce. Kyle writes a song for his band that unintentionally strings Holocaust allusions together and he performs it for a room of Jewish people. Casey gets a call that her big scene in the Judd Apatow movie has been cut. Henry finds her crying and tries to comfort her. Ultimately, he has a hard time telling her to keep pursuing her dream when he gave up his own.
Constance’s husband dies in the limo on the way to their honeymoon. Henry goes on his first audition since rejoining Pasrty Down.

The show has not been revived or remade.
Behind the Scenes
The series was cancelled due to low ratings. Several of the castmembers also took other roles after season two was filmed.
