What can fans expect from the upcoming Penny Dreadful spinoff? Showtime recently announced the director and casting news for the new TV show, Penny Dreadful: City of Angels, Deadline reports.
The follow-up series is set in 1938 Los Angeles and “will explore an exciting mix of the supernatural and the combustible reality of that period, creating new occult myths and moral dilemmas within a genuine historical backdrop.”
Director Paco Cabezas has joined Penny Dreadful: City of Angels and is signed on to direct multiple episodes. Cabezas’ credits include Penny Dreadful, The Alienist, and The Strain.
Additionally, Showtime revealed Jessica Garza and Johnathan Nieves have joined the cast of Penny Dreadful: City of Angels as Josefina and Mateo Vega, respectively.
