City of Angels has a new star. Deadline reports Daniel Zovatto has joined Showtime’s upcoming Penny Dreadful sequel TV show.
The follow-up series is set in 1938 Los Angeles and “will explore an exciting mix of the supernatural and the combustible reality of that period, creating new occult myths and moral dilemmas within a genuine historical backdrop.”
On Penny Dreadful: City of Angels, Zovatto will be playing Tiago, “LAPD’s first Mexican-American detective.” Showtime has not yet announced a series premiere date.
