Perfect Strangers aired for six seasons on ABC before it ended. Could fans of the comedy see a reboot at some point?

Bob Boyett, one half of the team behind Perfect Strangers and other popular comedies, spoke about the possibility of a Perfect Strangers remake at the Winter TCA’s. Boyett was at the event to promote Fuller House, the revival of another popular comedy from ABC.

According to TV Insider, he said the following about a Perfect Strangers remake:

“There’s nothing to say expect it has been mentioned and people have expressed some interest. It hasn’t gone further than that. Its come more from the public than from networks. Not one network or platform that has called us up and talked about it yet. But they sometimes talk about it in passing, we should talk to you about some of your other shows and Warner Bros. TV has mentioned it.”

If a revival did happen, Boyett did say he thought it could work on the small screen today. He said:

“It was one of the rare workable farces on television. Farce doesn’t usually work on TV. And it was a major physical comedy and we don’t have as much of that. We did Laverne & Shirley years ago, and of course Mork & Mindy to some degree was a physical comedy. But Perfect Strangers was a great physical comedy, which people love and there has been a dearth of that recently.”

If there was a remake, it would likely feature the offspring of the characters from the original series.
