Is Pitch sticking around for a second inning? Recently, star Mark-Paul Gosselaar spoke to TVLine about the future of the FOX TV series.
The sports drama follows Ginny Baker (Kylie Bunbury), the first woman to play for a Major League Baseball team. The cast also includes Ali Larter, Mark Consuelo, Dan Lauria, Mo McRae, Meagan Holder, and Tim Jo.
In the interview, Gosselaar said he’s “absolutely” certain there will be a second season of Pitch, despite its low ratings and the fact that FOX has not ordered additional episodes. Currently, the freshman series is averaging .91 in the 18-49 demo and 3.322 million viewers:
Absolutely. I’m not even entertaining the thought that we won’t come back. Mo [McRae] and Kylie [Bunbury] and myself, we’ve all said that we’ll give our bodies about a month break before we go into our preseason routine and begin training again for next season.”
The season one finale of Pitch airs on December 8th.
