Poldark isn’t ending anytime soon. Radio Times reports season three of the BBC/PBS series has just begun filming.
Based on the novels by Winston Graham, the historical drama follows Ross Poldark (Aidan Turner), a British soldier who returns to his English home after fighting in the American Revolution. The cast also includes Eleanor Tomlinson, Ruby Bentall, Beatie Edney, and Jack Farthing.
According to executive producer Karen Thrussell, season three will feature several new characters:
It’s with real excitement that we introduce three very talented young actors to the world of Poldark – Harry Richardson and Tom York playing Demelza’s brothers Drake and Sam, and Ellise Chappell as Morwenna, Elizabeth’s cousin. All are major players in the next volume of Winston Graham and Debbie Horsfield’s saga!”
Season two of Poldark debuts on September 25th on PBS. Season three is slated to premiere in 2017.
