Poog: NBC Buys ‘Perfect’ Mom Sitcom

Poog: NBC Buys 'Perfect' Parent Sitcom

NBC is developing Poog, an ensemble sitcom, from A to Z‘s Ben Queen and Inside Out writer Meg LeFauve. Poog centers on a mom who struggles to get over her compulsion to be a perfect parent.

From The Hollywood Reporter:

The half-hour, single-camera script centers on a mom who attempts to get over her need to be the perfect parent by [banding] together with her friends to admit — and even celebrate — the messy reality of parenting. The group of friends share their daily mistakes, deepening their bonds, while their kids manage to survive and even thrive.

Queen will exec produce with writer LeFauve, and writers Lorien McKenna (Up, Brave) and Christine Whitaker (Snow Dogs) will co-executive produce. Warner Bros. Television will produce.

Per Variety, “The news comes a day after the Pew Research Center released an exhaustive study on the perils of working parents.”

What do you think? Do you like the sound of Poog? Do you think it will appeal to parents who are still laboring under the illusion that perfect parenting is possible, or are they too busy to watch TV?
