Portlandia may live on. It was announced recently that the series would end after season eight, but it is possible fans of the series could see characters from the comedy again.
Deadline reported that Fred Armisen and Jonathan Krisel teased the potential for spin-offs from the IFC series. The news outlet shared the following:
“At the panel following the announcement, the creators were asked about potential spin-offs that could extend the franchise. There is nothing currently in the works but Armisen said he would like to focus on ‘all the weirdos,’ while Krisel mentioned the animated rats, who have been featured in videos, as a possibility.”
