Primetime Network TV Show Ratings: Friday, November 12, 2010

Though it looks like Medium’s been cancelled, the series was once again in first place for the 8pm timeslot among viewers 18-49. It just goes to show how far viewership has fallen on Friday nights. At 9pm, CSI: NY slipped 15% in the demo (compared to last week’s episode) and second place for the hour. Blue Bloods dropped 11% but was still in first place at 10pm.

Over on The CW, the cameo by Teri Hatcher (in a Lois & Clark-like wig) seems to have helped give the drama a boost of 18% in the demo. Unfortunately, Smallville dropped almost 36% in The CW’s young female target demographic. Supernatural was down across the boards, in fourth place for the timeslot, and also lost nearly 36% in the young female demographic.

On NBC, School Pride didn’t lose any demo viewers from last week but the ratings are so terrible they couldn’t go much lower anyway. The same can’t be said for The Good Guys on FOX. The struggling cop series fell once again, after having risen slightly for a couple weeks. Fans should enjoy these shows while they can.

Raw data: © The Nielsen Company via Media Week. The demo +/-% number indicates how many viewers in the 18-49 demographic (the important category to most advertisers) watched over those that watched the last original episode.

What do you think? Why do you think Smallville’s 18-49 demo numbers were up but the younger numbers were down so drastically? What happened to Supernatural? What were you watching?
