Prison Break is getting ready for its return to FOX, and it is now known why the series is returning. Dominic Purcell revealed in a recent interview with Digital Spy that it was him and Wentworth Miller behind the revival of the series.
In fact, it might have happened sooner if Miller hadn’t taken a break from acting for a bit. After Miller decided he was ready to work again, the pair took the idea to FOX. However, the network was already thinking about it.
Purcell revealed the following:
“Wentworth and I decided, ‘Why not revisit Prison Break?’ – and so we went to the studio and they were excited about the idea and here we are. Prison Break was such an iconic show and it was something that we were very interested in revisiting, and they pulled out all the stops. So it’s going to be a tremendous show.”
The revival is scheduled to start production this month. A premiere date has not yet been set though. This year, fans saw Miller and Purcell team up again on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. That series has been renewed for a second season by CW.
