What’s in store for the new Psych movie? Recently, star Dulé Hill spoke with TV Guide about the upcoming USA Network reunion movie.
This will be the second reunion movie for the TV show, ran for eight seasons before ending in 2014. Returning stars included Dulé Hill, James Roday, Corbin Bernsen, Kirsten Nelson, Maggie Lawson, and Timothy Omundson.
In the interview, Hill revealed there will be a time jump in the new Psych movie:
We continue in real time, so we see where Shawn and Gus and Jules (Maggie Lawson) and Lassie (Timothy Omundson) — where they are now. We see exactly what has happened over these past two years we haven’t seen them.”
Hill also teased a guest appearance by Mary Lightly (Jimmi Simpson):
There’s always the appearance of Mary Lightly. Even though he’s dead, he’s like a cat with nine lives. He just keeps showing up. Just Jimmi Simpson alone, just his appearance in the Psych movie, it’s well worth watching it. If you don’t watch anything else, just watch Jimmi Simpson.”
Psych: The Movie 2 is expected to debut on USA Network this fall.
