After three years off the air, Psych is coming back. Deadline reports USA Network has ordered a holiday movie that will reunite the TV show’s original cast.
The long-running dramedy followed Shawn Spencer (James Roday), a fake psychic, and his friend Gus (Dulé Hill) as they solve crimes. The cast also included Corbin Bernsen, Kirsten Nelson, Maggie Lawson, and Timothy Omundson.
Psych ended in 2014 after eight seasons. Now, the core cast will return for Psych: The Movie. The TV film comes from series creator Steve Franks and will pick up “three years after the series finale as the gang reunites after a mystery assailant targets one of their own.”
In addition to Roday and Hill, cast members Corbin Bernsen, Kirsten Nelson, Maggie Lawson, and Timothy Omundson will reprise their roles for the movie, which begins production soon. Psych: The Movie is slated to premiere on USA Network this coming December.
