Is Punky Brewster making a comeback? Deadline reports star Soleil Moon Frye might star in a sequel to the ’80s TV show.
The original NBC sitcom “centered on Punky (Frye), a bright young girl raised by a foster dad (George Gaynes).” The series ran for four seasons before ending in 1988.
According to Deadline, UCP is developing a Punky Brewster sequel series with star Soleil Moon Frye that would follow Punky as a single mother who “meets a young girl who reminds her a lot of her younger self.”
The series comes from writers Steve and Jim Armogida.
