Queer Eye: Netflix Series to Film Special Episodes in Japan for 2019 Premiere

Queer Eye TV show on Netflix: (canceled or renewed?)

The Fab Five is headed to the Land of the Rising Sun. Deadline reports Netflix’s Queer Eye reboot will film episodes in Japan.

A remake of the successful Bravo series, the reality show features five gay experts as they help a straight man makeover his life, focusing on wardrobe, food, lifestyle, interior decoration, and hair. The fab five includes Antoni Porowski (Food & Wine), Bobby Berk (Interior Design), Karamo Brown (Culture), Jonathan Van Ness (Grooming), and Tan France (Fashion).

Queer Eye will film four episodes in Japan and while there,  the gang will work “with local tastemakers, while they learn and experience Japanese cuisine, fashion, design, grooming and culture firsthand.”

Queer Eye: We’re In Japan! is slated to debut on Netflix later this year.

From series creator David Collins:

In just a year since we launched season one, Queer Eye has become a global phenomenon once again and the Fab Five are truly the ambassadors of self-care and compassion that the world needs now more than ever. Filming in Japan is a wonderful opportunity for us to work with four deserving heroes that will help showcase the incredible traditions and customs of their country.”
