What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the CBS television network, Ransom follows experienced crisis and hostage negotiator, Eric Beaumont (Luke Roberts). He and his team are brought in to save lives when no one else can. Eric understands criminals better than they sometimes understand themselves. Using his keen insight into human behavior, Beaumont is able to resolve even the most difficult kidnap and ransom cases. Eric’s team is played by Brandon Jay McLaren, Nazneen Contractor, and Sarah Greene.
Season One Ratings
The first season of Ransom averaged a 0.43 rating in the 18-49 year old viewer demographic and 3.46 million total viewers. Find out how Ransom stacks up against the other CBS TV shows.
Telly’s Take
Talk about needing a crisis negotiator. Ransom appears to be in dire straights. The premiere episode (which aired on a Sunday night) earned a poor 0.85 in the 18-49 year old viewer demographic and drew 6.65 million viewers. It moved to Saturday nights and the numbers are poor, even for that night of the week. CBS is one of several partners on this show so it’s unclear how much it’s costing them or, if the ratings will make much of a difference in the renewal decision. I think it will be cancelled but you never know.
10/10/17 update: Ransom is renewed for season two on CBS. Details here.
