Red Moon: FOX Develops Lycans Drama from Nashville Writers

Red Moon TV show on FOX: season 1 (canceled or renewed).

At the height of campaign season, FOX is sudsing up politics. The network is developing the Red Moon TV show drama at 20th Century Fox Studio. It is based on the 2013 Benjamin Percy novel of the same name. Nashville writers Meredith Lavender and Marcie Ulin have received a script order with penalty, Variety reports.

Describing the project as a sociopolitical soap, Variety says, “The hourlong drama is set in a world in which Lycans, the human-esque basis for werewolf myths, live among humans as an oppressed minority. After a major terrorist event on U.S. soil, a Lycan female FBI agent must go undercover to a world she has shunned her whole life in an effort to stop another attack.”

James Ponsoldt will direct the pilot. He is executive producing with Temple Hill’s Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen, along with Lavender and Ulin.

Here’s more on the Red Moon novel. from BenjaminPercy.com.

They live among us.
They are your neighbour, your mother, your lover.
They change.

Every teenage girl thinks she’s different. When government agents kick down Claire Forrester’s front door and murder her parents, Claire realizes just how different she is.

Patrick Gamble was nothing special until the day he got on a plane and hours later stepped off it, the only passenger left alive, a hero.

President Chase Williams has sworn to protect the people of the United States from the menace in their midst, but is becoming the very thing he has promised to destroy.

So far the threat has been controlled by laws and violence and drugs. But the night of the red moon is coming, when an unrecognizable world will emerge, and the battle for humanity will begin.
