Set in summertime 1985, this dramedy follows young David Myers (Craig Roberts). He gets a job working at the exclusive New Jersey Red Oaks Country Club between his sophomore and junior years of college.

Understanding that college can have its distractions (though thoroughly disappointed with his son’s grades) father Sam (Richard Kind) encourages David to take the job. His dream is for his son to become an accountant and tells him to make a good impression on the influential crowd as one day he might be doing their taxes.

As the new assistant tennis pro, David is exposed to the strange characters that are the club’s staff and members. On David’s side is his best friend, Wheeler (Oliver Cooper), who also works there, and Nash (Ennis Esmer), the tennis pro of the club. The latter is David’s boss and the self-appointed guru of growing up.

Feared and admired in equal measures is club president Getty (Paul Reiser). When David is invited to play tennis against Getty, he knows that beating Getty could land him a powerful enemy.

David’s problems don’t stop there as he needs to stop his girlfriend Karen (Gage Golightly) from posing nude for ‘amatuer photographer’ Barry (Josh Meyers).
