reed between the lines canceled by BETAccording to Deadline, BET has quietly cancelled Reed Between the Lines after two seasons, one of which has yet to air.

The sitcom revolves around Doctor Carla Reed (Tracee Ellis Ross), a psychologist, wife and mother who tries to find the secret of balancing her professional and personal responsibilities. The sitcom also stars Malcolm-Jamal Warner, Melissa De Sousa, Nadji A. Jeter, Zoe Soul, Zoé Hendrix, and Anna Maria Horsford.

Reed Between the Lines debuted in October 2011. The show did well enough in its first season to score a second season renewal in April 2012. But a few months later, Ross announced she was leaving the show which resulted in the series having to be revamped. Charles Robinson, Michole White, and Tony Rock joined the cast.

The second season was supposed to start running in 2012 but, to date, BET hasn’t announced when (or if) they will air. The last original episode aired on December 20, 2011.

What do you think? Are you sorry that Reed Between the Lines has been cancelled? How do you think it compares to other BET sitcoms?
