Reign: Season Four Adding New Suitors for Mary and More

Reign

Reign is returning to CW with a fourth season, and fans can expect some very big changes on the series. Mary will finally head to Scotland, and that change of scenery will bring new people in her life.

TV Line reported that the series is casting not just not one potential suitor for Mary, but two new men will enter her life. The news outlet shared the following about the new arrivals:

“First up is Lord Darnley, a nobleman with a blood-claim to the English throne. Much like the late, great Francis, Darnley has a ‘wildly ambitious mother whose love hinges entirely on his ability to secure a crown,’ though his own ambition should not be underestimated. He hopes to become Mary’s second husband, a union which ‘could take down Elizabeth, giving [the couple] not just one nation, but two.’

Also hoping to win Mary’s heart is Bothwell, a ‘warm-hearted bad boy’ who is deeply in love with her. (Spoiler alert: A quick glance at the history books reveal that Bothwell stood accused of murdering someone very close to Mary. Time will tell whether or not that will be incorporated into the show.)”

Princess Claude will also have a new man enter her life. Gabriel, the son of Narcisse, will fall in love with her and wish to marry, even though she already loves someone else. His character is described as a “sexy and highborn rogue who is also a plain-speaking realist.”

The fourth role being cast is actually a recast. Charles’ brother Henry has been played by Jackson Hodge-Carter is being recast after an age up. He will not be happy about his brother being on the thrown.
