Revolution: TV Show Premiere Ratings

revolution tv show ratings on NBCLast night, NBC aired the first episode of Revolution. The network certainly needs a ratings revolution and, though shows like The Event, Alcatraz, and FlashForward have all failed to keep an audience, NBC is hoping their new “mystery” show will be a hit. Is it?

Revolution revolves around a world in which powered devices and machines stopped working 15 years ago. As a result, civilization ceased to exist as we know it and had to rebuild itself without any kind of technology. The show features the talents of Billy Burke, Tracy Spiridakos, Anna Lise Phillips, Graham Rogers, JD Pardo, Zak Orth, Maria Howell, David Lyons, Giancarlo Esposito, Tim Guinee, Elizabeth Mitchell, Derek Webster, and Daniella Alonso.

Per the fast affiliate ratings, the first half hour of the series premiere attracted a 4.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 12.32 million total viewers. That’s a very healthy number and represents just a 12% drop off from the last half hour of The Voice.

The second half hour of Revolution attracted a 3.8 demo rating with 10.98 million, a decline of 14% from the first 30 minutes.

Overall, the debut drew a very healthy sampling with a 4.1 demo rating and 11.65 million. It’s expected that the ratings will decline a bit in week two but they could grow too. Many people may have watched the pilot episode online over the past couple weeks rather than tune in last night.

So, what do you think? Did you watch NBC’s Revolution last night? Will you watch again? Do you think the audience will grow or shrink in week two?
