New faces are coming to Riverdale. Deadline and Entertainment Weekly report Robin Givens and Shannon Purser have been cast in the new CW series.
From Greg Berlanti and Roberto Aguire-Sacasa, the teen drama is a subversive and modern-day take on the classic Archie Comics. The cast includes KJ Apa, Luke Perry, Cole Sprouse, Lili Reinhart, and Mädchen Amick.
Givens will play Riverdale’s major, Sierra McCoy, who also happens to be the mother of Josie from Josie & The Pussycats. Meanwhile Purser, who just appeared in Netflix’s Stranger Things, has been cast as Ethel Muggs, a classmate of Archie, Betty, and Veronica.
Riverdale is set to premiere in early 2017.
