Robotech is making a comeback. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 1980s cartoon is being revived as a new comic book series.
Based on three Japanese anime series, the American Robotech adaptation aired in 1985 and followed Earth’s efforts to use alien technology to thwart extraterrestrial invasions.
Titan Comics is teaming with Harmony Gold and writer Brian Wood for the upcoming Robotech comic, which is expected to launch some time in 2017.
From Harmony Gold animation chief Tommy Yune:
