Roswell fans are in luck. Deadline reports The CW is developing a reboot of the cancelled WB/UPN TV show.
The original sci-fi series followed a group of teenagers living in the alien hotspot of Roswell, New Mexico. The cast included Shiri Appleby, Katherine Heigl, Jason Behr, Brendan Fehr, and Emilie de Ravin. The show ran for only three seasons before ending in 2002.
Now, The CW is developing a Roswell reboot from The Originals writer Carina Adly MacKenzie. The re-imagined series will follow “the daughter of undocumented immigrants [who] discovers a shocking truth about her teenage crush who is now a police officer: He’s an alien who has kept his unearthly abilities hidden his entire life.”
Amblin Television, Bender Brown Prods, and Warner Bros. TV are producing the project.
