The Runner will premiere on July 1 on the go90 service from Verizon, and now the series has released its first trailer. The reality series, which is executive produced by Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, has been in the works for years, but it is now ready to see the light of day.
Deadline shared the first trailer released for the series earlier this week, and it revealed the following about how the series will work:
“On The Runner, where there is more than a million dollars at stake, one chosen “Runner” attempts to make it across the U.S. unnoticed over the course of 30 days while following clues about his or her itinerary, including mandated checkpoints. At the same time, eight two-person teams of “Chasers,” equipped with mobile devices that also receive clues, try to track the Runner’s moves and make a capture before the next checkpoint is reached.”
This series has a twist though. The teams of chasers will have some help – you. People watching from home can watch daily episodes and send in tips to the teams. A good tip could mean big money for the home viewer.
