TV show description:
This comedy series focuses on an extremely rich and vapid playboy who’s in love with his childhood sweetheart, a selfless humanitarian. The story is told through the perspective of her 12-year-old daughter.

As the selfish and superficial son of an oil tycoon, Steve Wilde (Will Arnett) has never had to work for anything. Everything has always been within his reach, except for the woman he desires. His childhood sweetheart, Emmy Kadubic (Keri Russell), has dedicated her life to saving the world and is happy living in the Amazon rainforest with an indigenous tribe. In contrast, her 12-year-old daughter, Puddle (Stefania Owen), would like to live the life of an average pre-teen girl. Complicating matters, she hasn’t spoken in months.

The expansion of Steve’s oil company in the rainforest threatens Emmy’s tribe. So, she attends the “Humanitarian of the Year” award ceremony back home in New York — an event that Steve is throwing for himself. She hopes that she can convince him to spare her habitat. He’s uninterested as it would mean going against his dad, but he doesn’t want to lose Emmy again either. Things become even more complicated by the fact that Andy (David Cross), Emmy’s eco-terrorist boyfriend, and members of her tribe are in the picture.

Fa’ad Shaoulian (Peter Serafinowicz), Steve’s equally superficial neighbor, is best described as his best “frenemy.” His objective is to make sure his life is always better than Steve’s. It’s hard to say if he’ll be able to meet that challenge or not as the number one consumer of “guy-liner” and the two-time winner of the World’s Hairiest Chest Competition.

The rest of Steve’s “friends” are his paid staff. His life-long friend, Migo Salazar (Mel Rodriguez), is Steve’s driver and voice of reason. Steve’s onetime obsessive manny, Mr. Lunt (Robert Michael Morris), is now his secretary and fiercely protective Head of Security.

Series Finale:
Episode 13 — Basket Cases
When Wilde Oil causes an ecological disaster, Emmy is put in charge of the cleanup. Steve later learns that it’s a setup to get her away from him.
