TV show description:
Real estate lawyer Samantha “Sam” Newly (Christina Applegate) is the victim of a hit-and-run accident. After an eight-day coma, she awakens with retrograde amnesia and must rediscover her life, relationships and even her own personality.
Regina (Jean Smart) and Howard (Kevin Dunn) are her loving parents that don’t let on that Sam hadn’t spoken to them in two years. Her sweet best friend Dena (Melissa McCarthy) is sincerely supportive until Sam’s real best friend Andrea (Jennifer Esposito) exposes Dena as a fraud who hasn’t seen or spoken to Sam since the seventh grade. Andrea’s a party girl who neglects to mention that Sam’s an alcoholic who’s having an affair with a married man and is overall unscrupulous. Sam’s only true ally is her boyfriend Todd (Barry Watson) who doesn’t know about her affair.
As Sam discovers that she was actually a horrible person, she makes a conscious effort to not make the same mistakes twice. She starts by being nice to Frank (Tim Russ), the doorman at Todd’s apartment, who she discovers is very observant and ends up becoming an unlikely confidant.
