Another Grinder star is joining Santa Clarita Diet. Deadline reports Mary Elizabeth Ellis has been cast in Netflix’s upcoming new series.
In May, FOX cancelled The Grinder after just one season.
From creator Victor Fresco, Santa Clarita Diet follows husband-and-wife realtors Joel and Sheila, who lead “vaguely discontented lives in the L.A. suburb of Santa Clarita, until Sheila goes through a dramatic change sending both their lives down a road of death and destruction…but in a good way.”
Ellis will play Lisa, the outgoing next-door neighbor of Joel and Sheila. She joins cast members Drew Barrymore and fellow Grinder alum Timothy Olyphant.
