Saved by the Bell: Mark-Paul Gosselaar on Reviving the Sitcom Like Fuller House

Saved By The Bell

Is Saved by the Bell coming back? Star Mark-Paul Gosselaar recently spoke with Entertainment Tonight about a possible reboot of the classic ’90s sitcom.

Gosselaar played Zack Morris on the high school series, which ran from 1989 to 1993.

In the interview, Gosselaar said he’s surprised by how beloved the NBC series has become over the years:

It was a show that when we were filming it was almost canceled every year. We only did it for five years and it’s just had this long run that continues to generate more fans and new fans. This is a show that when we were filming, no one was watching.

“It’s been 20-plus years later and we’re still talking about it. It’s wow. It’s amazing. I just wish we could have had that success while we were filming it. It would have been so much sweeter.”

When asked if any kind of reboot, a la Netflix’s recent Fuller House, was possible, the actor said there are no current plans:

I don’t know if I would necessarily do a Fuller House-type of thing. To do a full show, I don’t know if that’s something that any of us would really want to be a part of. I could be wrong, but we haven’t ever been approached with scripts or material, so I don’t know.”

What do you think? Are you a fan of Saved by the Bell? Would you like a reboot?
