Scooby-Doo is coming back to the big screen. Variety reports Dax Shepard is in talks to co-direct a new animated movie based on the classic Hanna-Barbera cartoon.
Shepard has previously starred in NBC’s Parenthood, About a Boy, and Robot Chicken.
Shepard will co-write the project with Matt Lieberman and co-direct alongside Space Jam director Tony Cervone. The last Scooby-Doo feature film, Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed, was released in 2004. The producers of that live-action movie, Charles Roven and Richard Suckle, will also produce the upcoming animated feature, which is slated for released in 2018.
